Amsterdam: New opening of Cineac

by sara bertoni
From 1943 to 1996 Cineac was a loved movie theatre. The world famous Dutch Dj Tiesto and a team of creative partners have decided to re-launch the place with a total concept: modern Chinese cuisine, cocktails, club, live entertainment and electronic pop, to add a new dimension to the term “ going out in the Netherlands”.
The grand opening of the restaurant and club, Cineac, was the 7 june 2007 in Amsterdam. I was invited to the Pre Opening with VIP’s the night before.
At the party, Dj Tiesto performed with a group of sexy and beautiful models wearing the provocative lingerie of Der Kommissair, amazing modern Chinese food and cocktails to the Vip guests and of course a beautiful atmosphere , thanks to the famous architect J. Duikers who designed the place.
4 floors, with 3 bars and balconies at third floor where performers can be viewed
The cook chef Ho En Looi has previously worked for the Grand Hyatt Hotel in Bejjing in China, The Dylan Hotel in Amsterdam and most recently for the College Hotel. The restaurant is a new, avant garde Dim Sum restaurant with a healthy fast and delicious style of dining. Even after eleven in the evening when the kitchen officially closes Cineac will still offer small Dim Sum dishes.
Thursday to Saturday the venue subtly transforms from a restaurant to a club. The presence of the DJ in the spectacular stylish DJ Booth is a focal point. Due to this central position the DJ can be seen from all areas of the club including the dance floor and VIP booths. The new Cineac will bring varying and revolutionary music. Thursday is sexy house, Friday is house with an electric twist and Saturday is electro pop, a popular mix of classical hits and vocal house. Many famous and international DJS will appear in the new Cineac
Cineac is located in the heart of Amsterdam, the Reguliersbreestraat across from the Pathe’ Tuschinkski and near the Rembrandtplein
